If I were to make a cream cheese based frosting for carrot cake, what would happen if I substituted more cream cheese for the butter?
Well, I’m not actually Paula Deen, but I AM actually pretty good at baking. You need a little bit of butter int he cream cheese icing or it won’t set right. If it’s for nutritional reasons that you want to substitute, then I would suggest not substituting because they both have high fat contents. Though cream cheese has a TINY bit less. In other words, I would not substitute the butter for anything. Mainly because I love butter almost as much as Paula does.
